This Privacy Policy explains how Cipher Signal Labs, Inc. ("Cipher Signal Labs," "we," or "us") handles information about you across our sponsor-funded puzzle competitions and the websites on which we offer them. It should be read together with our Terms of Service.

Our platform and events are currently offered to users in the United States, and this policy is written for that audience.

01 — Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly — such as your name, email address, and any content you submit during events, including messages you send to our AI Agents. We also collect usage data automatically, including your device type, browser, and activity on the platform.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

02 — How we use your information

We use your information to operate and improve the platform, communicate with you about events, and deliver sponsor-funded prizes to event winners. We may also use aggregated, anonymized data to understand how players engage with events.

We will not use your information for purposes beyond those described here without your consent.

03 — Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and measure platform performance. You can manage cookie settings through your browser at any time.

04 — Sharing your information

We rely on third-party service providers to host and operate our platform. These providers currently include Supabase, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft Azure, which supply database, authentication, cloud hosting, and content-delivery services. Where these providers process personal information, they do so on our behalf to deliver these services and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Competitions on our platform are free to enter, and prizes, where offered, are funded by event sponsors. When you win a sponsored event, your name and contact details may be shared with the relevant sponsor solely for prize fulfillment purposes. We require sponsors to handle this information responsibly and not to use it for unrelated marketing.

Aggregate, non-identifying event data may be shared with sponsors as part of post-event reporting.

05 — Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

06 — Your rights

Depending on the U.S. state in which you live, you may have specific rights regarding your personal information. If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), gives you the right to know what personal information we collect about you and how we use it, the right to access and delete your personal information, the right to ask us to update inaccurate personal information about you, and the right not to be treated differently for exercising your rights. Because we do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, the rights to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information do not change how we handle your data. Residents of other U.S. states with comprehensive consumer privacy laws may have comparable rights.

To exercise any right available to you, contact us at the address in the Contact section below, and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.

07 — Children’s privacy

Our platform and events are intended solely for adults. You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or take part in our events, consistent with our Terms of Service. Cipher Signal Labs is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from someone under 18, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
